El Venadito, art againts animal cruelty
El Venadito, , the art exhibition against animal cruelty, in its 4th edition, reinvents itself by creating a new exhibition format.
The abuse of primates is the central topic of this new open call organised by the artistic space siNesteSia and Centre Cultural la FARINERA del CLOT in collaboration with FUNDACIÓ MONA.
The call for artists will be open from 21 September 2021 to 15 January 2022. For more detailed information please visit the website of the collaborating entities or contact s sinestesia.uno@gmail.com
A de-localised exhibition that seeks out the public outside the gallery
Montserrat Pérez, creator of the project and curator of siNesteSia, proposes a new idea for the fourth edition of El Venadito. To reach as many people as possible, the art pieces will be placed outside the exhibition hall of the different participating centres and entities, mostly in corridors and waiting rooms. La Farinera del Clot will organize the different locations that this year are joining the project..
Terms and conditions of the call for proposals
Centre Cultural La Farinera del Clot is a municipal facility coordinated by Federaciód’Entitats del Clot-Camp de l’Arpa (FECCA). In addition, it is part of the Barcelona City Council’s network of civic centres. Since its inauguration in 1999, La Farinera has been a space for cultural creation, a meeting point for creators and spectators. It is also a project that understands culture as a mechanism for social transformation and collective action.
We are convinced that the animal rights movement should be spread. Consequently, we will hang big posters in different locations for an audience that is already aware of this reality, but also for those that are not related to the movement or have little artistic interest. We want to democratize art and make it accessible to everyone.
The exhibition will be held without financial compensation from the organisation or the artists, i.e., there will be no charge for the use of the space, nor will the artist be remunerated financially for showing his or her work. The artistic pieces will be on sale in digital format (space permitting), 80% will go to the artist and 20% to Fundació MONA.
Passpost “SÓC MONA”
Visiting the exhibition itinerary will be completely free. There will be the possibility of buying a passport to get it stamped along the way, documenting the progress. Once completed, the visitor will have the possibility of winning two free tickets for a private tour to Fundació MONA. The passport, called “SÓC MONA”, will cost 5€ that will be donated to the foundation.
As usual, there will be parallel activities such as guided bicycle tours for both children and adults, workshops related to creativity…
