Endangered Primates: Madagascar
There is a biennial list of the 25 most threatened primates on the planet by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, as well as other entities (e.g., the SSC Primate Specialist Group (PSG), International Primatological Society (IPS ), Global Wildlife Conservation (GWC), Bristol Zoological Society (BZS) that were commissioned to make the most recent list from 2018-2020). In this way, a consensus of those species most threatened worldwide and their need for conservation is created. We are going to show you some of the species in each of the regions where our endangered primates live. In the article published by these organizations the species are divided into 5 sections (Madagascar, Africa, Asia, Neotropics and Others). Here, as well as on our social networks, you can access to Chapter 1: Madagascar. This post is a summary of some of the most emblematic species of the island.
