More than 300 contributions submitted for the Spanish Great Apes Law
The preliminary public consultation “has generated a high level of international interest because the regulation, if approved, would be a global pioneer,” emphasized the Ministry of Social Rights.
The three primate rescue centers in Spain, Fundació MONA, Fundación Rainfer – Chimpatía, and AAP Primadomus, have joined forces to ensure that the voices of experts in the care and welfare of great apes are heard and considered in the drafting of the new law. We have also offered our assistance to the Directorate General for Animal Rights to provide advice on the matter.
