Do you believe that environmental education is essential for children to learn how to respect and love nature? We at MONA believe this to be true and that is why we have created "VISITA CHIMPÁTICA", an educational program that allows both children and adults to learn, discover, create, and explore together while having fun. "VISITA CHIMPÁTICA" includes:
- Enrichment Workshop: Enrichment is any item that promotes physical activity, mental stimulation, or play to ensure the chimpanzees’ well-being. In our Enrichment Workshop put your creativity and imagination to work by assisting us in creating games, puzzles, and handicrafts that keep our chimpanzees happy and having fun!
- Guided tour: We will take you on a guided tour of our center where you will get to know MONA’s very special residents of chimpanzees and macaques. Along this tour you will learn the stories of our primates, why they were rescued, and get a chance to observe them in their day to day life. You will also get the chance to see how much they like the enrichment that you have prepared for them!
Do you want to know the real significance of the “smile” in this photo? On your visit, we will explain this and so much more. After a visit to MONA, you will be sure to see and understand chimpanzees and macaques in a whole new way.
Schedule: please confirm in the morning with our Rehabilitation Center.
9€ per person* (4 years and older).
Limited capacity. Please book your tour in advance with us.
To request a guided tour
Call (+34)972 477 618 or fill out this form (the personal details you provide will be used only to arrange a visit date. In no cases will any information be transferred to third parties).
We can not always guarantee a tour on your requested date. If a particular date you request is not possible, we will try to arrange a tour near the requested time. After we have processed your request, you will receive a confirmation email from us in which we will confirm the day and time of your guided visit.
The MONA Foundation is not a center to exhibit animals. We are only open to the public during pre-arranged educational guided tours. If an individual or group arrives at the center without an appointment time, you will not see the animals.
For the best interest of the animals, it is not allowed to be at the center before or after your guided visit.
*the cost for the tour is a direct donation to MONA used for the upkeep and maintenance of the Rehabilitation Center. If you wish, it is possible to deduct 25% of your donation amount to MONA for your next tax return (more applicable for Spanish residents). If interested, please request further information about this on the day of your visit..
