WHAT?

OPEN MONA is a charitable day in which we open the doors of our Primate Recovery Centre to the public. The objective is to publicise our work, raise awareness of the need to protect the natural world and to highlight the plight of our closest evolutionary relatives in a fun and entertaining day.

On this occasion however, there is a special reason to support OPEN MONA: We are moving…. MONA will continue to provide the highest level of lifelong care and attention to our existing chimpanzee and macaque groups but the new rescue centre will provide us with the space and facilities required to guarantee a safe and stable future and for us to support the many primates that are still in need our help. Will you help us make MONA 2020 a reality? Join us for OPEN MONA! Your future awaits you!

ACTIVITIES

We will celebrate Open Mona 2018 on the first weekend in October and our event is closely linked with World Animal Day on October 4. It is the perfect opportunity for us to raise awareness of the plight of many animals across the world.

This celebration will have something for all audiences, large and small. You will have the chance to enjoy workshops, games, exhibitions, talks and a lot of activities with which you will learn about our primates and have fun with your family.

Very soon we will confirm all of the activities that will be taking place on the day so make sure you bookmark this page and come back regularly for updates.

WHEN?

On October 6th the celebration will be open to all audiences and on October 7th the day will be for Mona members, sponsors and collaborators, it’s not to late to become a supporter…

On both days the capacity will be limited and you will need to purchase a ticket in advance to participate in the event. When you get your tickets, you’ll be able to choose the hour for a guided visit, but you can enter our facilities and enjoy the activities from 10.30am to 5 pm

How can you help?

All of our work would not be possible without your help and support.

The new Sanctuary is the largest single project we have undertaken at Mona and we would like you to be an integral part of our vision for primate welfare for years to come.
